Despite the diffusion that these types of changes have taken, it is assumed that we will continue to be what we are.Our theoretical concern, on the other hand, results from the perplexity at the suspicion that our human constitution can be radically modified in genomic terms, without us having even remotely thought about the meaning and scope of this transformation. In this regard, we intend to offer, provisionally, an interpretive guide through the presentation of different topics that highlight a certain characterization of the human that, we conjecture, has led to the deployment of such possibilities. In short, what it is about is updating the philosophical question par excellence: what kind of creature are we that, among our possibilities, it is up to us by our own action to stop being what we are, humans, as we have been conceiving ourselves? A question that must be adapted to the situation we are going through, that of an evolution directed by technoscience, that is, by ourselves, even when this leads us to think of ourselves from a post-human stage. Los avances tecnológicos modifican continua y progresivamente nuestra corporeidad psicofísica, así como los entornos propios del mundo de la vida. A pesar de la difusión que ha tomado ese tipo de cambios, se presupone que seguiremos siendo lo que somos.Nuestra preocupación teórica, en cambio, resulta de la perplejidad ante la sospecha de que nuestra constitución humana pueda ser modificada radicalmente en términos genómicos, sin que hayamos pensado, siquiera remotamente, el significado y alcances de esa transformación. Al respecto, nos proponemos ofrecer, a modo provisorio, una guía interpretativa a través de la exposición de distintos temas que pongan de relieve cierta caracterización de lo humano que, conjeturamos, ha propiciado el despliegue de tales posibilidades. En suma, de lo que se trata es de actualizar la pregunta filosófica por excelencia: ¿qué tipo de criatura somos que, entre nuestras posibilidades, nos cabe por propia acción dejar de ser lo que somos, humanos, tal como nos venimos concibiendo? Pregunta que deberá adaptarse a la situación por la que atravesamos, la de una evolución dirigida por la tecnociencia, es decir, por nosotros mismos, aun cuando esta nos lleve a pensarnos desde una etapa post-humana.
