description A large number of studies promoted by Feminist Economics analyze gender inequalities inpaid labor markets and show that women participate less and/or are inserted in worseconditions than men. First, the inequality suffered by women is explained by the asymmetricdistribution of care work. As these activities are carried out mainly by women, they have lesstime to dedicate to professional development, work outside the home, among other activities.Second, the gender wage gap is also explained by the dynamics of discrimination and thelogic of the market itself. In this case, segregation is associated with the exclusion of women from certain occupations, and their concentration in those that tend to have poor workingconditions and low pay.In Neuquén, the official data available accounts for these inequalities. However, the empiricalstudies in general focus on national results and, to a lesser extent, on those found at theregional level, in the Neuquén-Plottier agglomeration. The recent publication of the totalurban Permanent Household Survey (EPH-INDEC), allows us to observe results for the urbanpopulation of the entire province. The main purpose of this work is to analyze the forms oflabor insertion of women compared to men in the paid labor market of the province ofNeuquén during the year 2019, and to compare the results with those found at a national level.In particular, the following categories are studied: job insecurity, horizontal and verticalsegregation, glass ceiling, sticky floor and wage gaps.
