description This article presents the results of a four-text preliminary assessment, as part of a research project, whose objectives are the annotation and analysis of a corpus composed of English-language texts and the design of didactic activities for different subjects of the English-Spanish Certified Translation Program at Facultad de Lenguas, Universidad Nacional del Comahue. This work focuses on the analysis of four texts used to teach English for Translation Purposes in order to assess the efficacy of the online annotation program chosen (CATMA). For this purpose, the qualitative analysis of the subtag repetition (within the tag rhetorical selection) was compared to a quantitative one (Query). All the tags are part of a taxonomy which was purposefully designed for the research, within the theoretical and methodological framework of Corpus Linguistics and Genre Theory. This approach allows for the analysis of the discursive practices of real users through representative texts of a particular genre. This work is expected to propitiate the analysis of other features within the corpus or other corpora, and eventually favor new connections between the characterization of discursive practices and translation training.
