description This article studies some sides of the rupture between Catholicism and Peronism in the mid-fifties of the twentieth century from the study of a specific case: a priest from a small town Victorica, in the Eva Perón Province, who was imprisoned when he was accused of defaming President Perón. The interesting thing about the analysis is that the aforementioned priest, who belonged to the Salesian congregation, wrote a memoir published in a confessional diary in which he details the entire process of his arrest and his perceptions of what happened. The article proposes a contextualization of the story analyzes it and inserts it in the studies of Peronism that investigate the relationship between the Catholic Church and Peronism.
