Sumario:The article has its starting point on the activities organized dur-ing ten years by the students at Escuela y Liceo Vocacional Sarmiento (National University of Tucumán). These actions are destined to keep the memory of Argentina’s dictatorship and its consequences alive. We investigated on the voices and representations of students and teachers and asked questions such as: “Why did the initiative come from the students and not from the History or Civic Edu-cation teachers? What differences and contacts can be found between Memory, History and the Teaching of Recent History? How can we contribute from the school, to strength democracy and citizenship? Will the celebration of March 24th become another ephemeride, since the establishment of “Memory Day” by law? From the analysis of specialists’ theoretical frames on the above mentioned topics, and the interviews made to students and teachers, we try to find some answers to the questions set forth.
