The focus is placed in recognizing some constituent elements of the initial formation in teacher training which are, at this moment, being discussed at governmental level in order to strengthen teacher training since it has been declared of public interest. This involves the construction of agreements among different agencies from national and provincial levels. In this context, meetings were held and working teams created as part of the project: Improving Teaching Training for High School professors in Language, History and Geography areas. The output production deals with: what is the meaning of thinking contents of teaching training initial formation on the basis of what the future professors should understand? En este artículo se presenta el análisis de una serie de cuestiones centrales para pensar la Formación Docente, específicamente la dirigida a alumnos de la carrera de Historia que realizan la opción por el profesorado.El interés se focaliza en reconocer algunos elementos constitutivos de la Formación Docente Inicial que hoy se están discutiendo en el área gubernamental como parte de la política educativa tendiente al fortalecimiento de la Formación Docente sobre todo a partir de haberla declarado de interés público. Esto implica generar políticas tendientes a la construcción de acuerdos entre las distintas agencias de formación existentes a nivel nacional y jursidiccional. En este contexto se realizaron encuentros sistemáticos y conformación de equipos de trabajo en el marco del Proyecto de Mejora de la Formación Docente Inicial para el Nivel Secundario orientado a las áreas de Lengua, Historia y Geografía. El eje de la producción giro en torno a: ¿Qué significa pensar los contenidos de la formación inicial de los docentes en términos de lo que los futuros profesores deben comprender?
