Sumario:In this article we will address the construction of social knowledge in the classroom based on contributions from the field of social science didactic research. We will start with a general framework on the relevance of the social character of school learning. Then, we will characterize the knowledge frameworks of the students as tools to learn school contents of social sciences, from an epistemological perspective that articulates contributions of situated constructivism and of social psychology. Finally, we will analyze cognitive actions that students put into play to build social knowledge, focusing on comparisons and projections. For this, we will take as a reference productions of our research team in social science didactics and research contributions from Nicole Lautier and Didier Cariou.
