This paper aims to revisit the 2001 mid-term elections in Argentina to debate with the reading key that has characterized them exclusively by the angry vote [voto bronca] component and that has explained this phenomenon as a result of the unanimous discontent of people [la gente] with the politicians in general. For this, we will focus on positive votes, by analysing discourses of those political leaders who turned out to be elected. We propose to recompose the polemics established in those discourses, insofar as there were multiple definitions of “crisis” in dispute there: what was on crisis, what were its causes, how to cope with it. From the gathering of a set of materials composed of opinion notes and journalistic notes in ‘Politics’ and ‘The country’ sections of the newspapers La Nación, Clarín y Página/12, we analysed a corpus comprised by those discursive pieces in which the object the crisis was thematized. Those fragments were studied from two dimensions: a) the discursive construction of the adversary/counter-addressee [contradestinatario] and b) the featuring and delimitation of the crisis as a discursive object. This analytic proposal on the October 2001 elections allows to consider an angle that has tended to be sidestepped: all discourses of the leaders who obtained the most votes tried to differentiate themselves from the government of the Alianza (even those of the candidates who were part of that coalition) and they revolve around the debate on the model change, from a domestic-market [mercadointernista] perspective. Those elections were an institutionalized deliberative scene in which a plurality of horizons was brought into play, that is to say, the organizational principles that govern collective life. The public time opened by these elections put cleavages at the centre of the public-politic scene that marked the destructuring of the fiscalist consensus and the gradual consolidation of the domestic-market one that would structure public policies since 2002. |

El objetivo de este trabajo es revisitar las elecciones legislativas de 2001 en Argentina para debatir con aquella lectura que las caracterizó exclusivamente en relación al voto bronca y al descontento unánime de la gente respecto de los políticos en general. Para ello, dirigiremos la mirada al desempeño de los votos positivos, a partir del análisis de los discursos de aquellos dirigentes políticos que resultaron electos. Se recomponen, así, las polémicas establecidas en esos discursos, entendiendo que allí entraron en disputa las múltiples definiciones de la crisis: qué estaba en crisis, cuáles eran sus causas y cómo debía ser conjurada. Se analizó un corpus construido a partir del relevamiento de un conjunto de materiales compuesto por notas de opinión y periodísticas radicadas en la sección ‘Política’ y ‘El País’ de los periódicos La Nación, Clarín y Página/12 y que estuvo conformado por aquellas piezas discursivas que tematizaron el objeto la crisis. Esos fragmentos fueron analizados desde dos dimensiones: a) la construcción discursiva del adversario/contradestinatario y b) la caracterización y delimitación del objeto de discurso la crisis. Esta propuesta analítica sobre las elecciones de octubre de 2001 busca dar cuenta de un aspecto que ha tendido a quedar soslayado, esto es, que los discursos de los dirigentes que más votos obtuvieron buscaron diferenciarse del gobierno de la Alianza (aun los de los candidatos que formaban parte de dicha coalición) y giraron en torno al debate por el cambio de modelo, desde una clave mercadointernista. En este sentido, aquellas elecciones constituyeron una escena deliberativa institucionalizada en la que se pusieron en juego una pluralidad de horizontes, es decir, aquellos principios organizativos que rigen la vida colectiva. El tiempo público abierto por dichos comicios puso en el centro de la escena público-política los clivajes que marcaron la desestructuración del consenso fiscalista y la paulatina consolidación del consenso mercadointernista que marcó la pauta de las políticas públicas a partir del año 2002.
