For this purpose, the use of the category “social protection and youth welfare systems” is postulated and a modeling of three “ideal types” of systems is formulated in order to classify state production over youth. For this purpose, the case study and process tracing were methodologically adopted to reconstruct the institutional historical development of youth policies and subnational state structures aimed at the youth issue in Villa María municipality, Cordoba province, Argentina. El presente trabajo expone los principales resultados obtenidos de la aplicación empírica de un enfoque novedoso para comprender el conjunto de intervenciones que desarrollan los gobiernos municipales para abordar la cuestión juvenil local. Para ello se postula la utilización de la categoría “sistemas de protección social y bienestar juvenil” y se formula una modelización de tres “tipos ideales” de sistemas a los efectos de clasificar la producción estatal sobre lo juvenil. A tales fines, se adoptó metodológicamente el estudio de caso y la reconstrucción del proceso (process tracing) del desarrollo histórico institucional de las políticas juveniles y de las estructuras del Estado subnacional destinadas a la cuestión juvenil en el municipio de Villa María, provincia de Córdoba, Argentina.
