description This work addresses the differential coding of human landmarks in the Spanish varieties of Santa Fe and Paraná. Authors such as Kittilä & Luraghi (2009), Luraghi (2011) and Haspelmath (2019) analyze spatial constructions and show that the coding of human versus non-human locations is differential in a wide variety of languages. In this sense, in the Spanish varieties of Santa Fe and Paraná there are particular constructions for the coding of human locations: “voy/ vengo/ estoy de Paula” and “voy a/ vengo de/estoy en lo de Paula”, respectively. In this work, the spatial syntax of both varieties is described and analyzed in order to compare and explain the features underlying this syntactic variation. Assuming the framework of Nanosyntax, it is proposed that the variation lies in the size of the structure that the lexical item stores, in the sense of Starke (2009, 2011).
