Sumario: | The accelerated urban growth experienced by the city of Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut) during the oil boom of 1958 generated several urban and social problems. The difficulties of access to urban land, added to the lack of planning, led to large sectors of the population having to resort to land occupation to solve their housing needs. In this paper we propose to approach this period from a historical perspective. Based on the survey of local bibliography, legislation and journalistic sources of the time, we seek to unveil how this boom in local industry generated difficulties in accessing land for large sectors of the population, which state responses existed and how the written media characterized the phenomenon. |
