description The objective of this paper is to analyze the participation of agricultural companies known as “civil societies” constituted by nationals and foreigners to grow large tracts of land in the Yaqui Valley. It was identified two periods for the creation of civil societies: the first created from 1922 to 1933 by Mexican and foreigner farmers with great extensions of land; and the second from 1934 to 1947, after the agricultural reform, by small and medium sized property of Mexican farmers.
