description This article parts from thinking and reflecting about some childhoods and adolescences crossed and devastated by helplessness, lack of protection, abandonment, delinquency and addictions, such as the case of the child named“Polaquito”, as an example among many cases, shown on television some time ago. I wonder about his experiences, so hard and dramatic at so early age, 12. Are they related to his mother abandonment? Or else, are they connected to a type of maternal function that prevents him to become a subject with the addition of his father absence due to imprisonment? To answer those questions I´ll present a Lacan´s concept called maternal function, then I´ll deep the concept by searching the notion of ravaging maternal function.
