As a result, a scheme of social exclusion is proposed which includes variables that allows the comprehension, in a multidimensional and dynamic way, the accumulation of disadvantages in a negative way in the family agriculture. The study points out the postulated variables and grants resources to recognize the contributions of the exclusion approach in the situation of family farm. El presente trabajo analiza los alcances de la categoría exclusión social para el caso de los agricultores familiares de La Plata. A partir de presentar las particularidades de la exclusión social para la comprensión de diversos fenómenos sociales, se realizó una investigación acerca de las problemáticas de los agricultores familiares para analizar el modo en que se vinculan con el enfoque de la exclusión. Como resultado del estudio del caso, se propone un esquema de exclusión social compuesto por variables que permiten comprender en forma multidimensional y dinámica, la acumulación de desventajas que afectan a la agricultura familiar. El trabajo recorre las variables postuladas y brinda elementos para reconocer a través de ellas, los aportes del esquema de la exclusión acerca de la situación de los agricultores familiares.
