description The present work analyses the social exclusion category for the case of family farm in La Plata. From presenting particularities of social exclusion for the comprehension of various social phenomena, a research was made to the problems of family farmers to analyze how it is linked to the exclusion approach. As a result, a scheme of social exclusion is proposed which includes variables that allows the comprehension, in a multidimensional and dynamic way, the accumulation of disadvantages in a negative way in the family agriculture. The study points out the postulated variables and grants resources to recognize the contributions of the exclusion approach in the situation of family farm.
