El interés por la reflexión epistemológica asume para la historia un valor creciente. Los hechos no se imponen por sí mismos. Los historiadores escriben inmersos en un tiempo y un espacio que influyen en sus explicaciones. Las representaciones del pasado se hacen desde el presente. La historia teje una trama argumental para distinguir lo simbólico y lo fáctico del pasado y su uso político. Los gobiernos populares como el peronismo hacen de los medios de comunicación y del pasado fundacional de la Nación un uso doctrinario para fidelizar a la sociedad y mostrar su gestión. Acciones y discursos se analizan aquí en la relación entre el tiempo social y el tiempo histórico acerca de un tema que conserva actualidad para la historia del tiempo presente.
