description The present work arises from the reflections and analysis within the framework of the research "The initial transition of the student in university life. Experiences of students of the careers of Advocacy, Veterinary, Chemical Sciences, Psychopedagogy, Architecture at the Universidad Católica de Cordoba ". In this work, the objectives were linked to investigate the experiences of change and the meanings granted to them, by students of different careers in the first course as university students. For this, relationships were established, from a diachronic perspective, between current experiences and previous experiences in previous schooling; To identify the new dispositions that, like schemes of action, of perception and of thought, must construct the students to cope with the challenges and exigencies of the university studies. It is about unveiling meanings and meanings that students assign to their student life, in order to identify enabling and hindering experiences in the initial transit of the university project. A mixed approach research methodology was used, for which a closed and open questionnaire was administered in a first approach. In a second moment, individual and groups interviews were carried out. In this opportunity, we have focused on some of the dimensions worked in the research, taking part of the interviews of a fraction of the sample, as exemplary in the processes of change that have occurred since entering university. The analyzes make it possible to infer that students incorporate new dispositions that allow them to integrate into the new social spaces. There are academic practices that require a cognitive construction that generates imbalances and re-equilibrations, which in different ways, will be drawn by students, depending on the unique ways of assuming it. This is always in tension with the social and binding that will constitute a central axis of daily practices.
