Firstof all, it will be given an introduction on the interplay between population and development. Afterwards, the settlement patterns of the population and the household access to basic servicesand communications will be analyzed in order to prove the existence of spatial imbalances in Río Negro. The aim of this work is to provide a tool to identify future needs and to contribute to the development of a settlement population policy linked to a provincial development policy.
