description With this paper we intend to identify the theories that allow the construction of the cinema as an object of knowledge and to put them in relation to literature and education. For that reason webore in mind, on the one hand, the authors who reviewed the theoretical discourse around the cinema and the theoretical-literary categories involved (Aumont, Stam, Bordwell, Perez Bowie), andon the other, those authors who problematize the relationship between the cinema, literature and education (Ambrós, Breu, Dussel, de la Torre, Jiménez Pulido Amar Rodríguez, Marañon, Peters, Zavala). We carried out a bibliographical research and qualitative methodology, the results of which confirmed the educational potential of the cinema presented by the authors. We want to reflect on the multidisciplinary potential of the cinema related to its polyphonic nature and to pose future research lines in the Argentinian educational field.
