description The festival is presented as one of the many ways in which man is expressed. Understanding this, the analysis of the same can contribute to enrich our perspective on the societies that are object of the historical discipline: their cultural systems, their customs, the construction of their identities and, above all, the changes and continuities that shaped it. In this exploratory article, we thinkof the festival as one of the constituent elements of society, propitious to be approached. We emphasize the festivities that emerge in the second half of the twentieth century in the province of Buenos Aires linked to the celebration of local economic production. To do this, and as a case study, we will focus on the origin of the National Festival of the Calf and Day of the brand, which takes placein the town of Ayacucho, located in southeastern Buenos Aires, since the end of the sixties.
