description Basado en un trabajo de campo realizado en Japón entre los años 2006-2008, en el presente artículo se analizan aspectos relacionados con: idioma e identidad cultural, dinámicas etno-raciales y experiencias religiosas que la segunda y tercera generación de inmigrantes nipo-brasileños enfrentan en Japón. Para ello se explora la presencia del flujo migratorio de nipo-brasileños viviendo y trabajando en Japón para luego centrarse en las situaciones específicas que impactan la vida de niños y jóvenes, especialmente aquellos nacidos y criados en ese país. El análisis toma en cuenta la cuestión lingüística, cultural, racial y religiosa por ser elementos que constituyen la construcción de la identidad y que impactan en la vida cotidiana de estos niños y jóvenes tanto en el ámbito familiar como social, sobre todo en sus interacciones en el contexto educativo de la escuela primaria o secundaria. El artículo apunta a visibilizar aspectos que generalmente se relacionan con las vicisitudes de la primera generación de inmigrantes en la tierra de recepción, pero que a menudo son invisibilizados respecto de la segunda y tercera generación. ABSTRACTBased on fieldwork conducted in Japan between 2006-2008, this article analyzes aspects related to language and cultural identity, ethno-racial dynamics, and religious experiences that the second and third generation of Japanese-Brazilian immigrants face in Japan. In order to explore these aspects, the article begins by examining the presence of the migratory flow of Japanese-Brazilian currently living and working in Japan, to then focus on specific situations that have animpact on the lives of children and youth, especially those born and raised in that country. The analysis takes into account the linguistic, cultural, racial and religious issues as elements that are related to the construction of identity andthat affect the daily lives of these children and youth both in the family and social contexts, especially in their interactions within the educational setting of elementary or high schools.The objective of the article is to explore those aspects that are generally related to the vicissitudes of the first generation of immigrants in the host country, which are often made invisible with respect to the second and third generations.
