description ResumenEn el presente trabajo nos interesa realizar el análisis discursivo de"Teoría tradicional y teoría crítica", escrito fundacional de la concepción contemporánea de la práctica crítica, firmado por MaxHorkheimer, uno de los referentes de la denominada Escuela deFrankfurt. Utilizaremos las herramientas del análisis del discurso,principalmente en su corriente francesa, para abordar lo queconsideramos las cinco dimensiones clave de un escritoargumentativo como el que tenemos entre manos: a) la dimensióndialógica -por el hecho de que el texto adopta la forma de un diálogo-; b) la dimensión polémica -por el hecho de que ese diálogo adopta la forma de una contienda-; c) la dimensión retórica -por el hecho de que para dirimir la contienda aparecen ciertas pruebas-; d) la dimensión tópica -por el hecho de que los argumentos concretoshacen uso de ciertas fórmulas abstractas comunes; y e) la dimensióndeíctica -por el hecho de que aparecen en el texto de manera clara ymanifiesta ciertas referencias personales y temporales-.AbstractIn this paper we are intersted in doing a discursive analysis of"Traditional and critical theory", foundational essay of thecontemproary conception of critical praxis, signed by MaxHorkheimer, one of the main figures of the so called Frankfurt School.We will use the tools provided by discourse analysis to engage whatwe consider to be the five key dimensions of an argumentativewriting like this one: a) the dialogical dimension -because the writingtakes the form of a dialogue-; b) the polemical dimension -becausethe dialogue takes the form of a controversy-; c) the rhetoricaldimension -because in order to solve the controversy, certain proofsappear-; d) the topical dimension -because concrete arguments make use of certain common and abstract formulas; and e) the deictical dimension -because certain personal and temporal references appear in a ver y clear and manifest way in the writing-.
