description ResumenLos diagnósticos elaborados a nivel mundial sobre los efectos delcrecimiento científico/tecnológico consideran que los mismos nosllevarán indefectiblemente a la destrucción de la vida en el planeta.Ante esta situación se han elaborado distintas tipos de estrategias. No obstante, todas ellas parten de la idea de que la solución provendrá de la misma ciencia y tecnología, Ahora bien, ¿esto es posible? En ese sentido, el objetivo de este artículo consiste en evaluar si las posibilidades de disminuir los efectos del crecimiento a través de la reorientación de los fines de estas actividades no resultarán infructuosas, puesto que están condicionadas a ciertos esquemas conceptuales acerca de cómo entendemos nuestras relaciones entre naturaleza y cultura, o entre ciencia y sociedad. Al respecto, sostenemos que sólo modificando dichos esquemas podremos vislumbrar alternativas más eficaces.AbstractDiagnoses made worldwide on the effects of scientific / technologicalgrowth consider them lead us inevitably to the destruction of life onthe planet. Faced with this situation they have been developedvarious types of strategies. However, all based on the idea that thesolution will come from the same science and technology, however, is this possible? In that sense, the objective of this paper is to assess if the possibilities to reduce the effects of growth through thereorientation of the aims of these activities will be fruitless, sincethey are contingent upon certain conceptual schemes on how tounderstand our relationships between nature and culture, andscience and society. In this regard, we argue that only modifyingthese schemes can glimpse most effective alternatives.
