This article is part of a research carried out in the framework of the "Productive dynamics and urban economy. Neuquén and its environment. Trajectories, evidence and prospects for development " within the system of science and technology of the National University of Comahue. It advances knowledge produced as part of the research in urban and regional economy over recent years are taken up. In the first part, are treated issues that correspond to the theoretical methodological revision in regional urban stimulates the ongoing globalization process since the last decades. It relates to technological scientific advances and consequent reorganization of the production system globally as part of a new mode of development (accumulation and regulation), and the most relevant territorial impacts that in the developed world and in the periphery of which are, among others, changes in urban hierarchies, infunctions and settings, and dynamic cities in the management of enterprises, in theinstitutions, in the social and labor relations, and daily life of the population. The size of these tenses traditional analytical models with reference to urban- regional issue, as well as the land policies, encouraging the development of new approaches to interpreting socio-spatial dynamics of capitalism contemporary. Are incorporated into the analysis economic, social, techniques, spatial and institutional dimensions that relate to capital mobility and business strategies, expertise and innovation processes, urban paths, centrality and dynamics of agglomeration, outsourcing and diversification are addressed; and the incorporation of ICTs in .the management firms as key factor in redefining the division of labor, the business links, configuring value chains, spatio-temporal relations, local and regional expansion, knowledge intensive services and demand for new job skills. In this context, and product research advances made, are presented in subsequent sections some of the changes that have been occurring al regional level, associated with the dynamics of production complexes based on natural resources and part of global chains, particularity regarding the incorporation of ITCs which provide explanatory material about its development and perspectives. Finally, reflections are presented on the same matter and advances in identifying new issues about the growing complexity of the development of regional urban system and Neuquén from its specificity and trajectory. The findings open up the possibility of new paths of research on theproductive, organizational, and institutional changes underway, especially those that have been launched in the complex hydrocarbons from the renationalisation of YPF and the new policy national energy, and looming in demographic and functional from the exploration and development of unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs in the Neuquen Basin. |
