description The monarchist proposal was one of the alternatives discussed, both in the press and in the sessions of the congress gathered in Tucuman, by the ruling elites of the Rio de la Plata to end the revolutionary bleeding and the restore political order. Nevertheless, it is a monarchy that should not thought as a turning back, quite the contrary, because condensed and expressed an important part of the mutations produced in the political languages resulting from the revolutionary and Independence experience. Therefore, progress on submissions and arguments that were raised about the plausibility of closing the revolutionary cycle with a monarchical form of government allow us to access these deeper changes as the relationship between the King and the foundation of the sovereignty; the influence of the European Restoration; the role of law in the monarchy; among others. In this way, we can think the Spanish American revolutions as a part of a large Atlantic political laboratory that involved other experiences such us the revolution in France and American Independence. And besides, closer to the answer about why it was feasible end the revolution with a monarchy.
