To do so, we'll cover the historiography in order to meet the major interpretation that mobilized the theme, existing three main trends: one that defends the survival of the slave work; the feudalization one; and peasant autonomy thesis. My position, that views the Early Middle Ages as a period of feudalism consolidation, has few supporters nowadays, hence, defending it implies challenging the hegemony in the field. Therefore, I will focus on theoretical-methodological issues that put under check the most common perspectives, seeking to demonstrate upon the Councils, the legislation and the material culture that the high medieval Iberian Peninsula met an intense feudalization process
