Exploring Interactions for Low-Cost XR
Interactions in low-cost Extended Reality (XR) devices pose various challenges due to inadequate sensors for capturing basic user interactions, such as hand movements or walking in the virtual world. This becomes even more challenging when representing complex interactions like object manipulation o...

This becomes even more challenging when representing complex interactions like object manipulation or navigating an environment. Therefore, this work aims to address these challenges by enhancing the naturalness of virtual environments and interaction techniques in lowcost XR devices. The main objective is to contribute to developing technologies and solutions for interaction techniques in low-cost XR. Specifically, this paper focuse on the design and development of three diffrerent types of interactions for low-cost XR. The first interaction will track head movements using a cellphones hardware, which has minimal tracking error. The second will track hand movements using purposespecific hardware. The third will monitor voice activity, a simple yet effective interaction. While the first and third interactions shows high levels of immersion, the second interaction presents challenges related to drift and noise, particularly in scenarios requiring precise tracking of user movements.
