Radiumtherapy is each time more utilized in the struggle against cancer, whether as exclusif treatment or associated to the surgery or to the other different forms of the anticancerous treatment.
Surgery is only effective, says Holfelder, if by means of operation we can get radical elimination of every cancerous cellule. On the contrary, new pushes, relapses and metastasis will appear short time after operation.
Radiumtherapy may destroy the malignant lesion constatable and visible without leaving depriment mutilations; it also can attack and destroy invisible lesions and those which are microscopie far away focal process, without being constraint to determined topographic limits as surgery is.
Surgery removes cancer and nothing else, radiumtherapy stimulates immunity phenomenons against cancer and that which is of vital importance for the treatment, radiations excersice a favourable influence over biological terrene, modifying internal mean, especially in that which refers to the colesterine, as it is proved with the interesting experiences made in this Institute.
