One hundred photographic plates obtained at ESO by astronomers from Belgique Royal Obsérvatery have been reduced at La Plata Observatory. The right ascension limit of the surveyed region are 10 hs. to 24 hs. while declination is between -19° and -40°. About 1260 components of double or multiple systems have been positioned with estimated accuracy ranging from 0.2" to 1.5". It was not possible to separate components closer than 3", and in these cases positions refer to photocenter. 330 systems are in the separation range 3" to 20"; while 84% are double, 13% triples and 3% with more than three components. To reduce the plates, it was used the linear plate constants method and measurements were made with a Seise 30/30 machine. Reference stars were obtained from SAO catalogue. Reference stars standard coordinates RMS of residuals are between 1" to 1" .5. As several positioned components are also SAO stars it is possible to calculate the differences between our results; and SAO positions; about 90% of these differences are smaller than 2". This is the same order of magnitude of residuals RMS and is the actual precision of SAO catalogue in this moment. |
