description In recent years, the participatory budget has become a central topic of debate in the field of local politics, both in Spain and other countries. This article compares two experiences of participatory budgeting that are being carried out in two Spanish cities: Albacete and Segovia. Begin by describing the history and evolution of both experiences, moving to a comparative analysis of its objectives, theirs actors and the challenges and difficulties which they encounter. We also discuss some general issues of such experiences, such as transparency, monitoring and evaluation. To conclude with a brief assessment of the results achieved in both experiences.
