description The current international context is a reflection of a significant transformation in world order based on the increasingly commercial interactions and financial constraints of the interests and strategies of the countries, a phenomenon identified with the concept of reality implied globalization. This new adjustments and changes in behavior of some Brazilian groups and social actors – such as the trade union movement – as the nation state loses the ability to monitor business activity in this new context, and therefore had changed their role, a supervisor profile to the detriment of its function regulatory. This paper, we discuss how some Brazilian unions are reacting against this new reality and what sort of initiatives are being taken to strengthen its position in this globalized world.
