Nevertheless,this country has never kept the eye out of those lands that once were part of its territory and symbolize part of its strategy in the future. Such is the case of Ukraine, a country that finds itself inthis situation due to its geostrategic location and division of influences, not only by the Western, but also by Russia. Nowadays, and derived from its energetic dependence, Ukraine has been in the need to carry out approaches to Russia, which may represent an outstanding brake in the so called Orange Revolution as this embodies an opportunity of approaching Western countries, opposing the Russian interest of perpetuating itself as the only great power influencing the region.
