description	La vie quotidienne des habitants de Bamako est marquée par la recherche de moyens économiques de subsistance et l'accumulation d'un capital relationnel ; ces deux quêtes, qui se conditionnent réciproquement, se croisent dans les cérémonies familiales, où s'expriment l'intensité des dépenses et de la sociabilité. L'article cherche à comprendre l'activité cérémonielle féminine par le recours à deux modèles théoriques d'articulation de l'économique et du social : celui de leur confusion dans les sociétés archaïques (Polanyi et Dumont) et celui de leur conversion dans les sociétés modernes (Bourdieu). Il conclut cet examen par le repérage de deux traits propres à chacun d'eux, mais combinés de façon inédite : la générosité et la concurrence. (Résumé d'auteur)
