Sumario:In this paper we study the transformations in school organization along with the development of organizational theory and contextual changes taking as a study case the regulation of schools in Buenos Aires province in two different historical moments: mid-XXs century and XXIst century beginnings. The foucauldian inspired documentary analysis was guided by five key questions: What concepts of the school as an organization are expressed in the regulations? What places and positions are assigned to the subjects that pass through the school environment? What perspectives on communication are manifested? How is the relationship between school and culture conceived? And, finally, how is the exercise of power programmed in the school organization? From this analysis we observe the movement from a bureaucratic school organization typical of disciplinary societies to a democratic school organization typical of management societies.
