The foucauldian inspired documentary analysis was guided by five key questions: What concepts of the school as an organization are expressed in the regulations? What places and positions are assigned to the subjects that pass through the school environment? What perspectives on communication are manifested? How is the relationship between school and culture conceived? And, finally, how is the exercise of power programmed in the school organization? From this analysis we observe the movement from a bureaucratic school organization typical of disciplinary societies to a democratic school organization typical of management societies. En este artículo estudiamos las transformaciones ocurridas en la organización escolar en su vinculación con el saber de las teorías de las organizaciones y las transformaciones contextuales tomando como caso la reglamentación de su administración a nivel institucional en la Provincia de Buenos Aires en dos momentos diferentes: mediados del siglo XX e inicios del siglo XXI. El análisis documental, de inspiración foucaultiana, fue guiado por cinco interrogantes clave: ¿Qué concepciones en torno a la escuela como organización se expresan en la normativa? ¿Qué lugares y posiciones les son asignados a los sujetos que transitan el ámbito escolar? ¿Qué perspectivas sobre la comunicación se manifiestan? ¿Cómo se concibe la relación entre la escuela y la cultura? Y, finalmente, ¿cómo se programa el ejercicio del poder en la organización escolar? A partir de este análisis observamos el pasaje de una organización escolar burocrática característica de las sociedades disciplinarias hacia una organización escolar  democrática característica de las sociedades de gerenciamiento.
