| Sumario: | This work presents partial results of a case study on the virtualization of “emergency” teaching, as a response to the forced interruption of face-to-face classes in the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic. The case analyzed corresponds to the postgraduate level of the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF), in Argentina. The methodological strategy used was quali-quantitative and descriptive. It was based on the application of a self-administered questionnaire online to the universe of graduate students who were enrolled in courses during the second semester of 2020 and another to university teachers who taught classes during the same semester, in order to know the perceptions and opinions regarding the teaching virtualization process.
The study gives an account of the characteristics that this process adopted in terms of the modality of study and use of technological resources, the limitations and readjustments in the dynamics of the development of the courses, and their impact on the teaching and learning experience. Aspects such as the strengthening of capacities for the implementation of a hybrid model as the one applied by UNTREF, the impact on the organization of the pedagogical model, and the possibilities and effects regarding the federalization and internationalization of the teaching of courses are highlighted. Finally, the potentialities, limitations and future perspectives of educational virtualization in emergencies are analyzed. |
