| Sumario: | Since its foundation in 1573, the city of Santa Fe in the Río de la Plata included slaves among its inhabitants. Besides the relationship with its owner, slaves established relationships with other people around them. After slaves were baptized, one of the ways of building interpersonal connection was through marriage. Searching the reasons that were hidden behind slaves’ marriages of the XVII century is the main objective of this paper. |
