| Sumario: | The purpose of this work is to show the electoral dynamics in the town hall of Jujuy, through the elections of representatives to the general meetings of 1816 and 1825, which had as protagonists two members of the elite jujeña: Teodoro Sánchez de Bustamante in The first and José Miguel de Zegada in 1825. These representatives suffered the harshness of a political context marked by revolution, the war of independence and civil wars after. In this plot Jujean families were divided according to their political and economic interests.
Throughout the work we will address some questions, such as: What was the behavior of the political factions before the elections of Teodoro Sánchez de Bustamante and José Miguel de Zegada? How did these representatives resolve the conflicts that confronted them with the authorities of the town council and members of the elite of Jujuy? What interests did Jujuy have in those years (the instructions)? |
