Considering the contribution of these studies, we propose to question Hobsbawm's theory of banditry as a pre-political movement, through the case study of the collective actions undertaken by the Vallegrande guerrillas, commanded by Juan Antonio Álvarez de Arenales, in The Governor of Cochabamba between 1814-1816, emphasizing fundamentally the war of resources that developed the indigenous bias of the region. Through the analysis of the documentation, we maintain that the collective actions undertaken by the indigenous groups of the region were premeditated and assumed political characteristics throughout the war. Desde la aparición de la célebre obra de Hobsbawm, "Rebeldes primitivos", se multiplicaron los estudios sobre el bandolerismo en América Latina. Considerando el aporte de dichos estudios, nos proponemos cuestionar la teoría de Hobsbawm acerca del bandolerismo como un movimiento pre-político, a través del estudio de caso de las acciones colectivas emprendidas por la guerrilla de Vallegrande, comandada por Juan Antonio Álvarez de Arenales, en la Gobernación de Cochabamba entre 1814-1816, haciendo énfasis fundamentalmente en la guerra de recursos que desarrollaron las parcialidades indígenas de la región. A través del análisis de la documentación, sostenemos que las acciones colectivas emprendidas por lo grupos indígenas de la región fueron premeditadas y asumieron características políticas a lo largo de la guerra.
