| Sumario: | In 1881 there were tensions and controversies about the Argentine past, not only in what refers to the debate between B. Mitre and V. F. López, but also from the appearance of stories that called into question a series of assumptions defended by those. The most well-known case is the History of Rozas by A. Saldías, a work that although it reproduced the porteño look, became original and controversial when revalue a personage until then reviled. However, there were other discourses emanating from the provinces which, at various points, implied an interpretative novelty. Focusing on the History of López of Ramón Lassaga, I intend here to trace those elements present in the context that opens after the fall of Rosas that allow us to understand the appearance in 1881 of works that, within the liberal tradition, imply a revision regarding to the "great stories". |
