The popular rebellion exploded in the streets, forcing the government to back down with the measure. The people's uprising baptized as the "Mendozazo del Agua" or "Mendozaguazo", configures a privileged temporality to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historic “Mendozazo” of 1972. Indeed, we propose to open a series of questions that gravitate around this constellation between past and present. Returning to the “Mendozazo” of 1972, reflecting on the complex web of continuities and ruptures, allow us to historicize the “Mendozaguazo” of 2019, elucidating some folds of its historical significance.
