It focuses on variousissues related to the implementation of sub-delegations in a broad,diverse and complex American space, offering an analytical lookat a micro scale that allows us to understand the effective anddaily exercise of power. In this way, it enriches and complicatesthe interpretations that historians built on the period of Bourbonreformism. Entre 1782 y 1786 la monarquía hispana implantólas intendencias en los virreinatos del Río de la Plata, enel de Nueva España y en la capitanía general de Chile. Lostrabajos aquí reunidos procuran responder a la pregunta sobreel modo en que funcionaron las intendencias en América apartir del conocimiento de sus circunscripciones constitutivas,las subdelegaciones. Pone el foco en diversos temas relacionadoscon la implementación de las subdelegaciones en un espacioamericano, amplio, diverso y complejo, ofreciendo una miradaanalítica a una escala micro que permite conocer el ejercicioefectivo y cotidiano del poder. De este modo, enriquece ycomplejiza las interpretaciones que los historiadores construyeronsobre el periodo del reformismo borbónico.
