It seeks to shed light on how the electoral interests of the political elites from the Radical government intertwined with the entrepreneurial strategies of the technical bureaucracies responsible for managing these railways. In so doing, it hopes to offer a more comprehensive understanding of the political factors that shaped the development of the state-owned railroads in the times of the Democratic Republic. Este artículo examina la Revista Riel y Fomento de la Administración General de los Ferrocarriles del Estado desde los inicios de su publicación, en mayo de 1922 hasta mediados de la década de 1920. Se propone arrojar luz sobre cómo se relacionaron los intereses electorales de la dirigencia política del partido de gobierno, la UCR, con las estrategias de la burocracia técnica responsable de la gestión de dichos ferrocarriles. De esta manera, espera brindar una interpretación más comprensiva de los factores políticos que condicionaron el desarrollo de los Ferrocarriles del Estado en tiempos de la República Democrática.
