Has been neglected, in contrast, the situation in other regions, not belonging to the mining circuit as producers, but since the colonial era, were linked to the markets to feed its population and by extension to other regions of the Andean altiplano. This paper examines the situation in Cochabamba, agricultural land, located in central Bolivia between 1892 and 1927, showed the conflicts of its agricultural elites and the central government to obtain a railroad that will connect with the mining region of Oruro. Los escasos estudios realizados sobre los ferrocarriles y sus impactos en Bolivia han tomado más en cuenta los proyectos de construcción, los mecanismos financieros o sus impactos sobre la actividad minera, que fue la que los impulsó y en cuyo beneficio se construyó la mayoría de ellos. Se ha descuidado, en contraste, la situación de otras regiones, que no pertenecían al circuito minero como productoras, pero que desde la época colonial, estaban ligadas a los mercados para abastecer a su población y por extensión a otras regiones del altiplano andino. Este artículo indaga la situación de Cochabamba, región agrícola, ubicada en el centro de Bolivia entre 1892 y 1927, mostrado los conflictos de sus elites agrícolas con el poder central por obtener un ferrocarril que la conectara con la región minera de Oruro.
