This paper examinesthe role that railroad workers played in the process of design,discussion and approval of this legislation. To this end, it analyzesthe different actions and demands that railroad workers andemployees performed during the gestation of the retirementbenefit, from the presentation of the project in 1912 to itsapproval in 1915. In particular, it seeks to explore their notionsof justice and equality, and the perceptions they built about theirrights. To this end, it focuses on the demands they formulatedin relation to the definition of the beneficiary universe, theconditions of access to retirement, the financing of the fund andthe dispositions on strikes.   En 1915, la ley 9653 creó la caja de jubilacionesferroviarias y configuró una de las primeras políticas de seguridadsocial implementadas en Argentina a comienzos del siglo XX.Este artículo examina el papel que los trabajadores ferroviariosdesarrollaron en el proceso de diseño, discusión y aprobaciónde dicha legislación. Para ello, se analizan las diferentes accionesy demandas que los obreros y empleados del riel desplegarondurante la gestación del beneficio, desde la presentación delproyecto en 1912 hasta su aprobación en 1915. En especial, lamirada busca explorar sus nociones de lo justo y lo equitativo,así como las valoraciones que construyeron sobre sus derechos.Para ello, la atención se focaliza en las reivindicaciones queformularon en relación a la definición del universo beneficiario, lascondiciones de acceso a la jubilación, el financiamiento de la cajay las disposiciones sobre las huelgas.
