Problemas y enfoques historiográficos a propósito de esta cuestión Soprano, Germán Argentine historiography Army Modernization Bureaucratization Professionalization Historiografía argentina Ejército Modernización Burocratización Profesionalización In the last decade, some argentine historians have studied processes of modernization, bureaucratization and professionalization in the Army in Argentina in the early twentieth century, providing new knowledge in a disciplinary field mainly interested in ideology, political participation and repressive intervention of the Armed Forces. Without omitting the relevance of the latter, these historians understood the bureaucratic and professional conceptions and practices in the Army, focusing on the perspectives and experiences of the military. Such investigations can be compared with similar processes in other state institutions and actors of the time. Based on a critical historiographical analysis, it is proposed to recognize how these processes of modernization, bureaucratization and military professionalization were defined.   En la última década, algunos historiadores argentinos han estudiado procesos de modernización, burocratización y profesionalización en el Ejército en la Argentina de principios del siglo XX, aportando nuevos conocimientos en un campo disciplinar principalmente interesado en la ideología, participación política e intervención represiva de las conducciones de las Fuerzas Armadas. Sin omitir la relevancia de esto último, esos historiadores comprendieron las concepciones y prácticas burocráticas y profesionales castrenses enfocándose en las perspectivas y experiencias de los militares. Tales investigaciones pueden compararse con procesos similares en otras instituciones y actores estatales de la época. A partir de un análisis historiográfico crítico se propone reconocer cómo fueron definidos esos procesos de modernización, burocratización y profesionalización militar.
