All of wich were launched torecover, review and disseminate a certain version about the natureof José de San Martín and his role during the Spanish-Americanindependence revolutions. To this end, special attention will bepaid to comparisons made with other historical figures –mainly,Simón Bolívar– form which it was possible not only to defineand represent the identity of the hero in question, but alsoto consolidate and popularize a narrative aimed at historicallyjustifying Argentina’s hegemony over the rest of Latin America.
