Regional studies are of great importance to know the particularities of the processes in general, therefore, we approach spatial transformations generated by the haciendas of the Morelia region through a comparative approach, through analysis of two historical periods: the Porfirismo and the Mexican Revolution. The analysis was done by exhaustive comparison of the different types of documents, especially information from historical archives and space observation. La relación espacio-tiempo es indisoluble, los procesos históricos dejan su impronta invariablemente tatuada en el espacio, ello se refleja en diferentes niveles, ya sea en el territorio, en los asentamientos humanos o en la arquitectura. Los estudios regionales son de gran importancia para conocer las particularidades de los procesos generales, de ahí que nos acercamos a las transformaciones espaciales generadas por las haciendas en la región de Morelia mediante una aproximación comparativa, para ello se observan dos momentos diferentes: el Porfirismo y la Revolución Mexicana. El análisis se hace mediante la confrontación exhaustiva de diferentes tipos de documentos, entre los que destacan los archivísticos y la observación directa del espacio.
