| Sumario: | From essays and impressions of travel of the sociologist and historian Gilberto Freyre (1900-1987), aims to examine its reflections on Iberianism, Hispanism and Latin Americanism. Freyre appointed himself as an Iberian intellectual, both heir and defender of cultural and intellectual Iberian traditions. In addition to the intellectual inspiration in different references, Freyre wrote his works motivated by several travels made at different times of his life: the United States, Europe, platinum countries (Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay), Portugal, Portuguese colonies in Africa and Asia (Goa ) etc.. By confronting and comparing thoughts and impressions of Freyre on the Iberian and Latin Americans countries, it is possible to understand his ideas about the Iberianism, Hispanism and Latin Americanism, and his vigorous defense of Iberian and Latin American traditions. |
