| Sumario: | This article aims to investigate, based on news published in the Cordoba newspapers La Voz del Interior and Los Principios, the way in which the complex political and social process that led to the release of prisoners in that province in May 1973 unfolded. In particular, we will examine the riots and escapes produced by the prison population of the Cárcel de Encausados and the Asilo Correccional del Buen Pastor. We will also look at the tensions between the political prisoners –who benefited from the presidential pardon– and the common prisoners, who were not included in this measure. |
